Model Programme for Public Libraries - Why and How?

Three feature days in November introduce and give inspiration to development of the physical library with solutions that meet new needs and local conditions.

The Model Programme for Public Libraries contains background information, cases and descriptions of challenges in connection with building and refurbishing libraries. Based on the library's own practice, context and experiences the Model Programme can ensure the good process and progress in the development of the physical library with focus on the interplay between space, function and user experience.

The key figures behind the Model Programme will explain the intentions of the Programme, and the participants will meet libraries with experiences in using the Model Programme. Together we will discuss the challenges of the Model Programme and the possibilities when transforming the physical library.

Facilitators: Head of Taarnby Municipal Library Jens Lauridsen and project manager Marie Østergaard from Aarhus Municipal Library. Both have been participating in developing the Model Programme and are members of the editing group of the Programme.

Target group: Managers of libraries, middle managers and employees working with library development.

Where: The feature days will be held three different days. In Roskilde (12.11), Ålborg (19.11) and Vejle (24.11)

Organizer: The Danish Main Libraries and the Danish Agency for Culture.
